Warner Bros. is currently working with animation studio Animal Logic (Happy Feet, Legend of the Guardians) to create a live-action, animated hybrid movie based on the LEGO brand of products. Casting for the movie is reportedly set to take place in January with an intended release in 2014.

The film will continue the relationship between Warner Bros. and LEGO that has produced a wide array of very successful toys and video games based on Warner Bros. properties including Batman and Harry Potter. The project has been in development for years, having previously attached the team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) to write and direct in 2010. Since then, Robot Chicken‘s stop-motion director Chris McKay has also been brought in as a co-director.
