Comic Bits – IDW’s Infestation 2 #1

With a hook that will keep old school, pulp horror fans interested and fans of classic 80’s licenses squealing with unbridled delight, this year’s Infestation event is shaping up to be another cross dimensional, rip-roaring event of escapism starring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Danger Girl, Dungeons and Dragons, and 30 Days of Night. A quick synopsis: The CVO (Covert Vampiric Operations) is back to combat the threat of H.P. Lovecraft’s Elder Gods who have escaped their prison. After issue one, it looks like Artillica (the fusion of magic and technology made manifest) is ripping open portals to other dimensions, causing some major headaches for our favorite characters! Will they each be able to stand against the cross dimensional threat? Duane Swierczynski scripts and David Messina provides some vibrant pencil work for the “book ends” of Infestation 2.
