Need something new and fun to do on your social media outlets? Of course you do, so here's the Geek Photo Week.

As announced on this week’s show, we’re going to try something fun on the social media side of The Geek Generation. During the second week of July, we’re kicking off our Geek Photo Week. During each day of the week, we’re asking our listeners and readers to join in by hopping on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, whatever you use and take a picture of the daily theme.

Here’s the schedule:

Sunday, July 8: YOUR FAVORITE CONSOLE

Monday, July 9: ACTION FIGURES IN A BATTLE SCENE

Tuesday, July 10: YOUR COMPUTER SETUP

Wednesday, July 11: A FAVORITE COLLECTIBLE

Thursday, July 12: YOU WEARING A GEEKY SHIRT

Friday, July 13: YOUR MOVIE COLLECTION

Saturday, July 14: COMIC BOOK/GRAPHIC NOVEL YOU LOVE

It’s no fun if you keep it to yourself though, so make sure you share with others in the following ways:

Facebook: Go to www.facebook.com/thegeekgeneration and post your geeky photo on our page.

Twitter: Tweet your picture using #GeekPhotoWeek. We’ll be following the hashtag all week, but if you want to guarantee we’ll see it, include @GeekGeneration as well.

If you want your friends to join in on the fun or just let them know why you keep sharing these photos, download and use the handy Facebook Timeline Cover we’ve created:

  • Hey Rob. Do we need to post the pics the day of? Example: Sunday July 8th: Favorite Console. Do we need to wait and post the pic of our favorite console on July 8th? And so on and so forth? I leave at Noon on Sunday and wont be home till about 1am Tuesday morning. Gonna be on the road.

    • That’s the goal, otherwise there’s no need to have the dates. However, there will be some overlap as we have an international audience and everyone’s in different time zones.
