Benicio Del Toro, Glenn Close, and Doctor Who star Karen Gillan have joined the cast of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Del Toro has been cast in a lead role, but his character is being kept secret for now. Deadline is reporting that the actor has also signed a multi-picture deal with Marvel.

Close is playing a leadership role in Nova Corp, the intergalactic space patrol.

Gillan has been cast as the lead female villain in the movie. However, who that character is has yet to be announced.

The trio join the cast of Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond, and Lee Pace. Directed by James Gunn, the Guardians of the Galaxy is set for an August 1, 2014 release.
