South Park’s massive deal, The Bad Batch renewed, & Guile and Cammy join Fortnite – 2021-08-06

South Park gets multi-season renewal and deal for 14 Paramount+ movies

The long-running animated sitcom South Park has been granted a multi-season renewal by Comedy Central, which will extend the series’ run on the network through its 30th season in 2027. In addition to more seasons of the beloved animated comedy, Paramount+ has also ordered fourteen original South Park movies, which are set to premiere throughout the course of six years. The first two films are currently slated to debut sometime this year.

Co-creator Matt Stone told Bloomberg that he and Trey Parker plan to expand the world of South Park by using the movies as an opportunity to introduce new characters and concepts.

South Park has been on the air for more than 20 seasons since its debut in 1997. During its run, it’s garnered a number of awards including five Emmys and a Peabody award in 2005.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch renewed for Season 2 at Disney+

Disney+ has officially renewed Lucasfilm’s latest sci-fi animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch for a second season, which has been slated to debut in 2022. The announcement comes just ahead of the first season’s finale.

The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch and their young charge, Omega — as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch – a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.

Street Fighter’s Cammy and Guile join Fortnite

Fortnite is getting two more characters from Street Fighter. Epic Games has announced that Guile and Cammy are coming to the game as unique outfits that players can buy from the in-game store.

Guile will come with his signature costume as well as an alternate outfit that puts him in a black tank top and shorts. He’ll also get an emote and K.O. back bling. Meanwhile, Cammy comes with her classic costume and an alternate called Tactical Cammy. Cammy will also have a Borealis Backer back bling, and an emote. Buying the bundle with both characters will also unlock a loading screen with them teaming up for a fight, as well as some harvesting tools, and a jet glider.

This is the second Street Fighter duo to make their way to Epic’s battle royale game after Chun-Li and Ryu were released earlier this year. Both skins will be available in the Fortnite in-game item shop on August 7th.
